Our Policy

Terms and conditions

When a booking is made through Mahiri African Tours or our partners you have agreed to the conditions below.

Booking policy

At the time of booking, we require a non-refundable 30% to secure your booking. An invoice will be sent to the client together with the payment instructions. All reservations shall be confirmed in writing or email once the deposit is received.

Final remaining payments can be made on arrival with a credit card or USD cash. Credit card surcharge applies at 3.5%. Payments must be paid in full before safari/ climb commences.

Reservations made within six weeks of departure of the safari or climb are only confirmed if the total cost of the tour is paid on reservation.

An increase in park fees from the government may occur at any time. You are responsible for the difference in the price when an increase in park fees occurs. You will be notified in writing of the increase.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations are only effective if Mahiri African Tours received written notification to the office and are effective upon the date of receipt.

If a booking is canceled the client is subject to a cancellation fee as follows:

  • Greater than 90 days deposit will be refunded less the cost of expenses incurred already, such as deposits for accommodations
  • 90-60 days before a departure cancellation penalty of 50% of the price
  • 59-31 days before departure is a penalty of 75% of the price
  • 30 days or less/ or no show, 100% of payments will be retained by the company
Payment

Available payment options:

  • Direct international wire transfer
  • Online credit card payment

All payments and quotes are in USD currency. On receipt of payment to the bank, we will notify you with confirmation of the booking

Credit cards

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. If you use a credit card there is a 3.5% surcharge for credit card transactions. It is a bank surcharge, not from Mahiri African Tours. If you choose to pay with a credit card this 3.5% surcharge will be added to your trip balance
  • International bank wire transferThis payment option takes about 7 days to process, there is a surcharge by the banks. If you choose this option we will send you our bank details. Depending on your bank they may charge you about $50-75 for an international wire transfer.
Images and marketing

During your tour, you consent to the images taken by our employees of you to be used by Mahiri African Tours for advertising, marketing, or promotion purposes on any medium without any royalties or payments expected. If you do not want your image to be used please inform us before departure and we will respect your wishes.

Privacy policy

Any personal information we collect will be used for the purpose of the operation of your tour and or to send you marketing information in relation to our company offers. We will not send your information to third parties.

Travel documents

Your passport must be valid for six months for your trip to Tanzania. It is the client’s responsibility as the traveller to ensure all required documents such as tourist visas, permits, certificates, vaccinations etc. are completed on your arrival in Tanzania. Mahiri African Tours do not take responsibility if denied entry into Tanzania.

Travel  Insurance

Mahiri African Tours does not provide travel insurance, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure they have appropriate travel and medical insurance coverage for the duration of the trip. At a minimum, we recommend medical, evacuation and repatriation coverage on all dates while in Tanzania. We recommend extending coverage to include trip disruptions and baggage insurance as well.It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the insurance coverage is appropriate and covers the type of travel and activities that will be done while on tour to ensure you are properly covered. Mahiri African Tours will not be held responsible for liable loss, damage, theft of baggage, personal injury, accident or illness.

Medical Conditions

Clients are responsible for assessing their own health conditions and status. And their own capabilities before participating in a tour with Mahiri African Tours. All clients should consult a medical professional regarding fitness to participate in booked tours and recommended advice regarding vaccinations and medical precautions while in Africa. Mahiri African Tours does not provide medical advice.

Itinerary changes

Mahiri African Tours will make every effort to adhere to schedules, routes, lodges and camps as agreed upon. On occasion changes may have to be made due to weather conditions, game migration changes, unforeseen accommodation overbooking, etc. If changes to the itinerary occur the client will be informed as soon as changes occur.If the traveller initiates itinerary changes the traveller will be responsible for all expenses that may result from the changes.

Liability

Mahiri African Tours are not responsible for any damages, expenses, losses or claims which are attributable to the fault of any Client, the unforeseeable or unavoidable act or omission of a Third Party unconnected with the provision of any services that form any part of the tours, or a force majeure event. Mahiri African Tours has no liability for loss, theft of or damage to baggage or personal effects of clients while participating in a tour.In the event that any loss, death, injury or illness is caused by the negligent acts and/or omissions of Mahiri African Tours or of the Third Party Suppliers of any services which form part of the contract then Mahiri African Tours limits its liability, where applicable by all applicable International Conventions.

Force Majeure

Mahiri African Tours shall not be liable for anything that happens because of force majeure,  which includes, but is not limited to natural cataclysms, war or military operations, breakdowns of the mechanical facilities, fire, vehicles or electrical appliances, civil disturbances, labour strikes, actions of the government authorities, political unrest, insurrections and mutinies, extreme weather conditions and other calamities and situations beyond our reasonable control and which we could not foresee.

The laws of Tanzania

In any disputes, the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania shall apply. 

All tours are easily customizable to fit any budget, from budget-friendly camping safaris to luxurious fly-in safaris.
